We are looking for a dynamic, customer-obsessed, and innovative Senior Designer specializing in Handbags, Footwear, and Non-Apparel products to join our Amazon Private Brands team.

In this role, you will design and develop products for Amazon's core brands, primarily focusing on handbags and footwear, alongside jewelry and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background and a passion for premium and contemporary design details. They will be highly technical, experienced in handbag and footwear development, and have an extensive history of working directly with vendors and factories. Proficiency in digital design tools is necessary, along with a readiness to adopt new technologies and data inputs to accelerate and improve development without compromising quality.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a proven ability to create cohesive, on-brand products across multiple categories with exceptional attention to detail. This hands-on role requires high judgment, executing against brand tenants, and proactive ownership. We value collaboration and creative excellence within our global team. Key job responsibilities

• Design and develop women’s, men’s, and kid’s handbags, footwear, and non-apparel from concept to pre-production approval

• Manage projects across all design stages for Amazon Essentials and Private Brands

• Identify opportunities to integrate emerging trends and innovations into product solutions

• Deliver compelling presentations and effectively communicate with internal customers and stakeholders

• Collaborate closely with creative leads and cross-functional partners, including Product Developers, Business Managers, Sourcing, and Project Management teams, to ensure work is delivered on time and of the highest quality

• Proactively incorporate emerging technologies and data inputs to evolve and refine the product creation process

• Establish mechanisms and conduct audits to maintain consistent brand standards across all product categories

• Drive process improvements, business scalability, and seek opportunities to enhance division/brand impact

• Elevate standards for design, product quality, and customer satisfaction

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in a creative & design role, with required handbags and footwear expertise

• Strong proficiency in design and presentation tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software

• Fluency in technical design drawing, including hardware development and full-size product renderings

• Detailed, hands-on experience with prototype commenting, virtual and in-person

• Intuitive understanding of production cycle timelines and development calendars

• Organized with the ability to prioritize multiple projects

• Fluency in Retail Math and demonstrated business acumen

• Proactive problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Online retail experience

• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions using large amounts of data

• Experience working in a digitally driven, globally decentralized environment utilizing virtual communication tools

• Exposure to 3D modeling and 3D prototyping

• Knowledge of global supply chain and regulatory requirements

• Familiarity with factory evaluations and assessing fit for purpose

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
