Essential Job Functions

Legal Counsel: Offer expert legal guidance and support on a broad range of commercial matters including but not limited to clinical trial agreements, investigator sponsored research agreements, consulting agreements, R&D agreements, distribution agreements, licensing agreements, and other commercial transactions.

Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements tailored to the needs of both internal business clients and customers, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and safeguarding the interests of the company.

Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate risks associated with commercial transactions and agreements within the medical technology industry.

Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to medical technology companies, ensuring compliance and providing proactive guidance to clients.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, clinical, medical affairs and regulatory affairs teams to provide timely legal support and contribute to the achievement of business objectives. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, external partners, and legal counterparts to facilitate effective communication and collaboration in achieving commercial goals.

Legal Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of legal strategies aligned with the business objectives of medical technology clients, providing innovative solutions to complex legal issues.

Training and Education: Provide training and education to internal teams on legal matters pertinent to the medical technology industry, promoting awareness and understanding of legal risks and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

  • 8 to 12 years of experience practicing law with a focus on commercial transactions, preferably within the medical technology sector.

  • Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including ISRAs and HCP consulting agreements.

  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations impacting the medical technology industry.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal counsel and manage multiple priorities effectively.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000 to $207,000 .

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
