Overview:

Job Status/Type: Full-time, year-round

Salary: $8.50/Hourly + Tips

Position Level: Entry to Mid-Level

Shift/Schedule Requirements: Ability to work various shifts and days including nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

Coordinate the activities of banquet staff to ensure proper execution of banquet events, maintain cleanliness and organization of all work and storage areas, ensure guest service, and additional duties assigned by the Banquet Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure and assist that banquet staff members complete tasks in accordance with BEO's and Sawmill Creek standards.

  • Inspect banquet rooms and ensure correct set-up and cleanliness prior to the start of the event.

  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

  • Effectively communicate any changes to the BEO's with the culinary staff and or sales team.

  • Maintains cleanliness, organization and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

  • Ability to follow all guidelines for the safe serving of food and drinks while complying with all aspects of the Ohio Health Code and Cedar Point food standards.

  • Ability to complete all key responsibilities of a Banquet Server.

  • Complete an event checklist at the conclusion of each event and turn in to a supervisor or manager to be added to daily shift notes.

  • Motivate and assist staff, maintain cleanliness of all work locations, ensure guest service, and additional duties assigned by the Banquet Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Able to work quickly without compromising quality.

  • Experience as a banquet server in a full service hotel preferred.

  • Flexible to work variable days of the week including weekends and holidays. Flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).

  • Good judgement and a commitment to safety.

  • Ability to work and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
