General Description
SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time English Instructors to teach developmental writing and first and second year college courses (typically three lecture hours per week) during days and/or evenings.
Classes are held on the SUNY Niagara’s main campus in Sanborn, NY.
Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $915 per lecture hour/$819 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in English, English Education or a Master’s degree in a related field;
Demonstrated evidence of knowledge of current theories of composition and literature;
Experience teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level;
Excellent written communication skills as demonstrated by application materials.
Desirable Qualifications
ABD or Ph.D. in English, English Education, or in Composition and Rhetoric; extensive course work in composition;
Experience teaching in technology enhanced classrooms;
Evidence of successful teaching non-traditional students.
