Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology shall include but are not limited to the following:

Collaborate with the Director to plan and implement Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology initiatives for the District, including leading Comprehensive District Education Plan (CDEP) initiatives related to staff and student learning as assigned by the Director.

Plan and/or facilitate dynamic K-12 professional learning opportunities for district instructional staff, in partnership with the Director.

Collaborate with the Director on curriculum review processes and materials selection, and support the development and implementation of curriculum mapping initiatives to ensure alignment with educational standards and district goals.

Assist the Director with managing department communications, including preparing newsletters, reports, and training materials to support ongoing collaboration and inform stakeholders.

Contribute to the planning and facilitation of Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) meetings.

Serve as a member of the Cabinet and District Leadership Team (DLT).

Qualifications:

Experience in secondary and/or elementary education with a proven track record of successful teaching.

Administrative experience is preferred.

Demonstrated familiarity with curriculum and instructional design, particularly in curriculum mapping and the creation of formative and summative assessments.

Knowledge and experience in integrating technology into instruction and aligning district curriculum with NYS standards.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels.

Other Specifics:

Collaborate with District Admin in the development and implementation of the District?s Professional Learning Plan, expanding opportunities at the secondary level.

Facilitate NYS and local testing programs, including Computer-Based Testing, as designated by the Director.

Support induction, mentoring, and professional development for K-12 probationary teachers.

Partner with the Director, Deputy Director for Technology, and Technology Liaisons on the selection, implementation, training, and instructional support of K-12 software.

Lead instructional/assessment development committees as assigned by the Director.

Analyze data to inform decision-making, support student learning, and identify appropriate professional development needs.

Collaborate with PLC facilitators to set goals, develop strategies, and ensure alignment with district-wide educational priorities.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology.

Requirements:

At least (5) years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience in a school district. Strong academic credentials and exceptional personal and professional leadership skills; the ability to work cooperatively with individuals and groups of individuals in the solution of problems and the implementation of innovative programs; knowledge of human relations and the ability to communicate with staff, administration and parents; high degree of public presence and skill, in both personal and public relationships.

Candidate shall possess excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, able to plan and have good organization skills.
