Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
Knowledge in pipe fitting and of basic steam theory.
Skill in reading, writing, performing basic math, and working with computer software.
Skill in working as a team member and interacting with the public.
Ability to work with various hand tools used in pipe fitting. Ability to rebuild pumps and insulate pipes and fittings.
Ability to work under strenuous conditions.
Ability to be on call one week a month and work outside of normal working hours (including holidays) and special events.
Ability to acquire TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License within one year and obtain a Class “C” Ground Water Treatment Operator License within two years.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working within a Public Water System.
Current TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License or higher Water Treatment Operator licensing.
Skill in troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
Job Description
Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.
Job Duties
Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.
Perform repair and replacement of all chilled water, steam, and condensate lines on campus.
Rebuild and repair pumps and motors.
Check University and Freeman Ranch water wells.
Fill out time sheets on a computer and complete work orders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
