Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Knowledge in pipe fitting and of basic steam theory.

  • Skill in reading, writing, performing basic math, and working with computer software.

  • Skill in working as a team member and interacting with the public.

  • Ability to work with various hand tools used in pipe fitting. Ability to rebuild pumps and insulate pipes and fittings.

  • Ability to work under strenuous conditions.

  • Ability to be on call one week a month and work outside of normal working hours (including holidays) and special events.

  • Ability to acquire TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License within one year and obtain a Class “C” Ground Water Treatment Operator License within two years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working within a Public Water System.

  • Current TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License or higher Water Treatment Operator licensing.

  • Skill in troubleshooting mechanical equipment.

Job Description

Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for operating and maintaining all steam, condensate, potable water systems, and associated equipment.

  • Perform repair and replacement of all chilled water, steam, and condensate lines on campus.

  • Rebuild and repair pumps and motors.

  • Check University and Freeman Ranch water wells.

  • Fill out time sheets on a computer and complete work orders.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
