Smith & Nephew Inc Surgical Sales Manager in San Juan, Puerto Rico

As our Surgical Sales Manager you'll direct Internal & External Sales Teams in order to achieve targets of the Surgical Franchises and develop mid and long-term business growth and also develop sound relations with HCPs, Hospital personnel, C-Suites, HMOs and other areas in order to implement S&N Strategy to provide sustainable growth outpacing competition.
What will you be doing?
Sales:
- Meeting assigned revenue quotas, and achieving gross profits and territory goals;
- Creating a sales plan and quota for the territory in support of regional objectives;
- Define Targets for each sales rep, and ensure proper attainment in compliance with corporate policies
- Relationship Manager with Third Party Sellers (TPS / Sales Agents)
- Calling on existing accounts, and developing strong customer relationships;
- Increasing sales from existing accounts and developing new accounts;
- Participating at tradeshows and conferences;
- Generating proposals and quotes for contracts or tenders;
- Preparing, planning, and implementing effective sales plans to increase sales amounts in the assigned territory;
- Preparing sales forecasts, marketing reports, and any other sales reports required by the organization;
- Supports customer's receivables when required;
- Lead strategic relations with external stakeholders (Hospital Directors, Materials Managers, Surgery Heads, HCPs, Finance) to advance S&N Business Objectives
- Interact with internal stakeholders (Logistics, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain and Credit and Collections) to ensure proper service levels while complying with objectives
- Work with Logistics, Procurement, demand and supply to ensure that proper forecast its achieved
Strategy:
- Works with Latam regional franchise managers to ensure the portfolio its updated with the newest technologies available.
- Works in conjunction with the Director, Marketing Personnel in HMOs strategies to provide access to patients on the S&N solutions
- Works to increase acceptance, adoption, and usage of company products within a customer to create selling opportunities.
- Works with Directors, Business Intelligence and defining best ways to approach territory with Direct and TPS
- Ensure an appropriate design of the territories to maximize business potential
- Provide strategic approach to business opportunities in order to launch new therapies, expand existing portfolio and gain market share
Market Intelligence:
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Knowledgeable of the product category; its competitive position and competing products including substitutes.
- Regularly works in the field to meet with customers and stakeholders to understand how S&N Surgical brands can benefit their patients.
- Constantly seek for market information to understand Market Size per franchise per territory, and develop strategies to win in the marketplace
- Acts proactively (before competition) anticipating HCPs & Hospital needs in order to provide the best service in the industry
- Gathering regional sales information and making recommendations to strategic plans and reviews;
Training:
- Participate in training activities with FSF & HCPs
- Provide timely feedback and recognition to Sales Reps under his supervision
- Ensure capacitation, development and recognizing of the FSF its achieved
- Works and serve as liaison with MedEd & Associations in order to develop sound relations that can help S&N expose their technologies, products and solutions
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Ensure high engagement levels in Gallup Surveys its maintained over the course of the year
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Biology and/or Nursing. Master's degree (MBA) or equivalent in Business Administration strongly recommended.
- Degree as a Surgical Technician
- At least 2 years' experience working and/or supporting Latin America or USA Markets would be preferred
- Bi-Lingual Spanish / English required
- Driver's License
- 8 to 10 years related experience in sales in Orthopaedic devices and/or HMOs
