Are you passionate about civil rights and equity? VTA is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Accessibility, Civil Rights, and Equity (ACRE) team as an HR Analyst. In this role, you'll play a vital part in shaping and implementing various programs, including VTA's Title VI Program, Language Access Plan, Public Participation Plan, Equal Employment Opportunity Program, and ADA Transition Plan.

Responsibilities - Your duties will include:

  • Assisting in administering various civil rights compliance programs internally and externally.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into discrimination, harassment, or retaliation complaints, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Analyzing transit services, programs, and activities to ensure compliance with relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with VTA divisions, community-based organizations, and the public.
  • Developing outreach strategies and representing VTA at community events to foster community partnerships.

Definition Under general supervision, performs professional human resources work involving a wide variety of human resources functions.

Distinguishing Characteristics This is the journey level in the Human Resources Analyst series. This level is characterized by assignments that are complex and sensitive in nature and require a high level of competence and understanding of a functional area(s). Incumbents in this class carry out work assignments with independence. This position may be required to provide lead functional or technical direction of paraprofessional or clerical employees.

An incumbent has responsibility for independent action, planning the work, using experienced judgment, solving problems, and the results of the work. Assigned duties require the exercise of judgment or choice among possible actions, sometimes without clear precedents, yet with concern for the consequences of the action. This classification differs from the next lower level of Associate Human Resources Analyst in that incumbents receive less supervision and are expected to perform more responsible assignments with a great deal of independence. This class differs from the higher level Senior Human Resources Analyst class in that the latter has full responsibility for one or more program areas and supervises and/or trains other professional-level employees.
