Citigroup Senior Vice President, Citi Ventures Marketing & Communications Content Strategy in San Francisco, California
Citi Ventures (CV) is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to lead the ideation, development, delivery and tracking of our thought leadership and marketing content across multiple channels and formats, including articles, videos, newsletters, and our internal and external websites.
As a key member of the Marketing & Communications team and reporting to the Head of Marketing, Communications & Platform, the candidate will be responsible for: helping bring the Citi Ventures brand to life; elevating the profiles of our spokespeople, portfolio companies and partners; supporting portfolio commercialization efforts; and powering our mission to catalyze innovation at Citi through cutting-edge thought leadership, event support and more.
The ideal candidate is highly adaptable and curious, and possesses the initiative and interpersonal skills to navigate a fast-paced, global and complex organization. This person must be able to juggle multiple shifting priorities, work independently, and synthesize a wide range of technical topics quickly, accurately and succinctly for distinct target audiences.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
Defining, managing and maintaining the Citi Ventures voice and editorial strategy
Working with subject matter experts across CV, Citi, the CV portfolio and the innovation ecosystem to develop strategically aligned content
Overseeing the end-to-end production of all CV content, including:
Writing and editing articles, video scripts, etc.
Sourcing images and developing graphics to visually represent key messages
Obtaining all necessary approvals prior to publication
Development, QA testing and publishing of content on key CV channels
Managing MarComms contributors, including in-house and agency staff
Producing CV’s monthly internal newsletter
Managing and regularly updating CV’s internal and external websites
Syndicating CV content through internal and external channels
Analyzing content metrics and adapting strategy to maximize impact/drive desired outcomes
Writing web copy, marketing emails, social media posts, etc.
Qualifications:
Excellent writing and editing skills – recent work samples required
10+ years of experience writing, editing and producing thought leadership/journalistic content
Tech-savviness, resourcefulness and grit needed to deliver against tight deadlines
Flexibility to think strategically and implement tactically and to operate as a conduit between the startup ecosystem and large enterprises
Ability to frame ideas for multiple audiences and “translate” technical topics into accessible language
Proven ability to drive collaboration across functions to deliver business results
Strong understanding of social media, content management and analytics
Subject matter expertise in finance, fintech, and/or enterprise tech a bonus
Should demonstrate a commitment to quality and attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal relationships with ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders
Exceptional initiative, critical thinking and problem solving capabilities a must
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
