Uber Senior Revenue Accountant - Systems in San Francisco, California

This is a hybrid position (50% in office) and you must be located in, or willing to relocate to San Francisco or Dallas.

In Finance, we work hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to ensure smooth, disciplined execution of strategic business objectives. Our Accounting team builds scalable, controlled processes and products for Global Accounting, Treasury, and FinTech that enable our business to operate efficiently.

About the Role

Uber's internally developed Revenue Platform translates billions of transactions into compliant financial accounting transactions. As a Senior Revenue Accountant in the Revenue Systems team, you will be responsible for supporting all new business product launches, business model changes, M&A activities, process enhancements and other initiatives to support and scale the business. You will have the opportunity to lead your area of expertise independently and partner across Finance, Accounting, FinTech, Product, and Business Operations as the subject matter expert. You will work in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously!

What You'll Do

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Revenue Operations, Tax, Finance, FinTech, Product, and Business Enablement to support all new business product launches, business model changes, M&A activities and other product enhancement projects.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Cash Accounting, and Payment Operations to enable the business in regards to payments processing and settlements

  • Lead system-related accounting initiatives, such as requirement grooming, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-production support for revenue system changes.

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support revenue operations during month-end close for data and system-related inquiries.

  • Assist with month-end close tasks, such as recording and automation of manual journal entries and process improvements.

  • Identify and troubleshoot system-related issues, proposing recommendations and solutions to enhance efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards while optimizing revenue processes within Uber's internal systems.

  • Support and manage shared services team members to meet deliverables effectively.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience in public accounting and/or industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA/CA certification preferred.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in using, writing, modifying SQL and data analysis preferred

  • A track record of driving challenging and sophisticated programs/projects to closure

  • Great teammate, self-starter, with ability to effectively prioritize

  • Experience in a growth environment and process improvement with a System, either in an ERP or internally developed.

  • Willingness to "roll up sleeves" and dive deep into processes.

  • Ability to manage shared services team members to complete deliverables in a timely manner

For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$106,000 per year - USD$118,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$118,000 per year - USD$131,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
