VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Doctor's Assistant in San Diego, California

VCA Animal Specialty Group is a 24-hour Specialty and Emergency hospital located in the heart of San Diego. Recently remodeled and upgraded to include top of the line equipment such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and Digital Radiography.

Your role as a Veterinary Doctor's Assistant for our Internal Medicine Service will be the first of it's kind here at ASG.

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00

Below are just a few of the primary skills one should be proficient in for this position:

  • Communicate with clients (obtain histories, discharges, euthanasia)

  • Create and present estimates to clients

  • Help maintain the flow of the doctor's schedules/appointments

  • Create treatment sheets on iPads for doctors to finalize

  • Fill prescriptions to go home with clients

  • Send and receive phone calls and emails

  • Manage daily tasks (lab & radiology report, filing, call backs/updates, enter charges, obtaining records, etc.)

  • Ensure patients are clean and comfortable

  • Clean and maintain the overall treatment floor and hospital

  • Work in a very high volume, fast paced environment

  • Multitask and prioritize cases and daily duties

  • Maintain excellent time management skills

  • Communicate and collaborate in a cohesive team environment

  • Work on WOOFware software
