Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for anEngineering Support Specialist.

Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA 92154 location and reports to the President of Aircraft segment.

Position Summary:

As an Engineer Support Specialist, you will collaborate closely with engineering and estimating teams to manage the collection and processing of technical data, document product specifications and processes, and create technical illustrations. You will partner with other internal departments to support cost estimates and profit analysis for complex specifications and projects. Additionally, you will evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and adjust pricing structures as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Retrieve technical data and specifications from customer portal.
  • Support estimating team by updating RFQ log, and Sales Force, as new quotes come in.
  • Analyze files and request any missing documentation required to complete estimate/RFQs.
  • Issue and prepare RFQs packages for quotes of missing cost information for materials, processes, and tools.
  • Develop bill of material structure on Cost Summary.
  • Respond to customer inquiries for annual certs and reps, then submit to customers.
  • Prepare and complete simple and medium quotes for submitting to customer via portal or email.
  • Review CAD drawings to extract necessary information for quoting.
  • Coordinate New Product Introduction process through engineering processes (CAD/CAM, Tooling Design/Fabrications and build package information creation.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, or currently pursuing a technical degree in these fields.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering models, drawings and specifications
  • Able to meet multiple and/or conflicting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of aerospace composites materials and manufacturing processes highly preferred
  • Strong estimating experience and ability to perform complex analysis preferred
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Experience with SAP or NetSuite ERP Systems preferred
  • Experience with using Customer portals (Exostar, Boeing, Northrop, etc) preferred

Compensation:

The compensation range for this position falls within $23 and $27. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
