Job Summary

Red Butte Garden is looking for a seasonal volunteer assistant who is a multi-tasking, energetic individual focused on supporting various events including private tours, concerts, and BOOtanical. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure these events operate without any issues by helping oversee volunteers.

Responsibilities

  1. Data Entry and Database Management:
  • Assist with data entry using Volgistics software program.

2. Private Tour Coordination:

  • Assist in coordinating volunteer coverage for private tours and events.

  • Answer incoming calls, provide information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals.

3. Concert Support:

  • Assist the volunteer coordinator during concerts by ensuring smooth operations.

  • Ensure volunteers remain on task and provide excellent service to the public.

  • Sign volunteers in and out at the end of the night.

  • Assist volunteers in managing recycling and clearing the amphitheatre of trash.

  • Be onsite to address volunteer inquiries and provide support throughout the duration of volunteer shifts during concerts.

4. BOOtanical Support:

  • Provide support during the last two weeks of October for BOOtanical.

  • Assist with shopping for, setting up, and providing food and snacks to volunteers.

  • Help manage the sign-in and sign-out process for volunteers.

  • Distribute snacks and hot chocolate to volunteers throughout the evening.

  • Handle the cleanup at the end of the event.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Two years of related experience, ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks, expertise using MS Office software, and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Database experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be preferred.
