O.C. TANNER COMPANY Senior Software Engineer in Test in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
Continually improve the quality of software products through the execution of test strategies. Interact regularly with direct leadership, development, and product management to solve challenging problems. Establish a functional understanding of our products from both a developer's and a user's perspective. Use, maintain and contribute to the development of test tools, mocks and automated frameworks. Identify, reproduce and report actual or potential product defects. Diagnose root causes of software defects and recommend required action. Use distributed version control systems such as Git/GitHub, Jira or other similar defect tracking tools and backend services testing. Work with RESTful APIs and messaging protocols (XML, JSON). Create and/or maintain automated tests in a predefined framework. Work within and across multifunctional teams. Use of testing methodologies and Cloud application testing. Use of Kafka and/or GraphQL testing and scripting tools (such as Bash, Python, Ruby). Assist product development engineers in creating and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline. Work with assigned product team(s) to ensure minimal duplication and maximum visibility.
Requires B.S. degree in Engineering plus 1 year of experience with automation tools and knowledge of distributed version control systems such as Git/GitHub, Jira or other similar defect tracking tools and backend services testing; understanding of RESTful APIs and messaging protocols (XML, JSON); ability to create and/or maintain automated tests in a predefined framework; ability to work within and across multifunctional teams; knowledge of testing methodologies; background with Cloud application testing; knowledge of Kafka and/or GraphQL testing and scripting tools (such as Bash, Python, Ruby). Worksite Location: fully remote -- telecommuting anywhere in the United States
