ICU Medical Senior Engineering Technician in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Title Senior Engineer Technician FLSA Status Non-Exempt Position Summary This position is for a Senior Engineering Technician who will perform work that is mechanical, electrical, or metrologic in nature to support the set-up and operation of the Salt Lake Service Center. This is senior level position where the individual has full mastery the complex tasks within the job function. This role works closely with Service Leads and Engineers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities •Responsible for the selection, purchasing, installation, maintenance, and repair of service equipment in the Salt Lake Service Center. •Manage and track equipment identification (tools, fixtures, and custom equipment). •Perform equipment set up and write and perform equipment validation •Ensure the timely and accurate completion and documentation of equipment preventive maintenance activities, as well as routine user standardized equipment verifications. •Responsible for assuring that all critical records relating to equipment preventive maintenance and calibrations are kept and maintained to cGMP, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485:2016 standards. •Oversee preparation of documentation associated with project activities to include equipment lists, drawings/schematics, validation testing, various new and revised work instructions, etc. •Creates and/or reviews work instructions, validation test protocols, and reports. Generates and/or reviews component documentation. Reviews and places purchase order requests for materials on assigned projects •Work with Service Engineering or Lead Technicians with project activities as needed. •Perform training on activities and processes involved in Service calibration, maintenance, and general operations. •Perform and document test equipment calibration and maintenance. •Work with the Service team to identify process improvements in Service operations. •Identify and perform work related to 6-Sigma and Lean initiatives in Service. •Work on special projects as assigned. Knowledge & Skills •In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or metrologic practices related to medical devices is required, including troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of equipment used in the servicing of medical devices. •Proficient verbal and written communication skills. •Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation as well as reading and creating process documents. Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience •Must be at least 18 years of age •High school diploma required •Associate degree or equivalent 6 years progressive experience in servicing and repairing, using electronic test equipment to troubleshoot, test, and repair equipment. •Previous experience with medical devices preferred, but not required. Work Environment •Job duties are performed in a service repair hub environment. •Must have high level of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with electro-mechanical medical devices. •While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time. •Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds. •Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time ICU Medical is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
