Join our team to help improve lives and create a safer Utah. The psychiatric/developmental technician is an entry level position. A valid driver s license will be required. Employees will be a part of a multidisciplinary team who serves people primarily with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, who also have criminal convictions.
This is a full time position with state employee benefits. Starting hourly wage is $17.30 an hour.
Psychiatric/ Developmental Technicians provide direct care to individuals with mental and behavioral health concerns including: observing, monitoring, and reporting individual s behavior; participating in and supervising individual s activities; teaching daily living skills; de-escalating in crisis situations; assisting in maintaining a therapeutic, safe, and secure environment. Employees must be able to properly manage aggressive, self-abusive, and non-compliant individuals and be able to implement and follow prescribed behavioral programs. Employees will work collaboratively as a valued member of the treatment team for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.

- 3 medical plan options. Choose a Traditional or High Deductible Health Plan. There is an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those who have other medical insurance coverage.
- 5 dental plan options, with an Opt-Out Cash Benefit option for those that have other dental insurance coverage.

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
- Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.

Paid Time Off:
- Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).
