SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Program Director, National Team Athlete Career Education in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Program Director, National Team Athlete Career Education position will play the lead role in developing the programming and process of Salt Lake Community College (SLCC)'s support of Utah's Olympic athletes in their education and career objectives.

This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, curious, and proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The Program Director will be a key point of contact for internal and external partners working to support the development of this program.

Key Responsibilities:

- - Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with internal and external partners to support the development and implementation of the Olympic Athlete Career Education Program including development of key strategies and performance indicators. Monitor progress and ensure alignment against the established strategies and objectives. - Project Management: Oversee and manage all areas of the program in coordination with internal and external partners to ensure project success. - Communication: Serve as a liaison between other stakeholders, including senior leadership, staff, and external partners. Facilitate effective communication and information flow to support the programs success. - Operational Support: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents as needed. - Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment across teams in support of the program's objectives. - Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

 

This is an at-will position. This position is funded for three (3) years.* Funding may or may not continue after this time.*

Athlete Career & Education:

- - Oversees establishing athlete career education guidance protocols and programming with internal and external partners. - Lead outreach to Utah's Olympic current and post athletic career to educate them on the services and support provided through this program. - Deliver workshops, in person and virtual, to educate athletes on career & education programs, services, and related topics. - Develop and align the athlete engagement strategy to keep athletes informed, educated, and engaged around the programs and services offered by SLCC. - Be the primary point of contact for on-going career and education related needs for Utah's National Governing Bodies athletes, along with those identified as transitioning out of sport, seeking educational and career guidance. - Manage SLCC enrollment and coordinate, with relevant departments, to ensure smooth process for athletes enrolling in SLCC. Execute athlete grant and scholarship application and payment processes. - Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify specific educational pathways that provide course and schedule flexibility to meet the needs of athlete tra ining/competition schedules. - Develops systems to monitor and measure program priorities, initiatives, and goals. - Create and maintain relevant career & education toolkits, webpages, and other documentation.

 

Experience & Promotion:

  • Initiates key college communications and promotional activities in support of the program.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders to implement on-campus activities that celebrate and/or acknowledge the program and athletes.
  • Coordinate athlete appearances for any on-campus appearances, promotional opportunities, foundation campaigns, and direct marketing.
  • Develop athlete surveys, prepare and conduct interviews, and plan and facilitate group meetings with key stakeholders to gather and analyze relevant feedback.

Stakeholder Engagement and Management:

  • Engage campus partners and constituents to ensure highly collaborative and effective working partnerships in support of the Olympic athlete career education program.
  • Develops presentations, communications, and other necessary tools for program education internally and externally.
  • Build and enhance relationships with key external partners including National Governing Bodies, supporting organizations, educational institutions Olympic officials, and key donors to the career & education program.
  • Staff representative and lead for the Professional Advisory Council, to be made up of industry leaders, that will assist in providing guidance and support for this program.
  • Manage implementation external partnerships with regional/national businesses to develop athlete career connections, internships, and employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Foundation Team in support of partnership opportunities, grant applications and donor engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
