University of Utah Production Manager in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Pioneer Theatre Company (PTC), a professional theatre operating under a LORT B agreement with Actors Equity at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, seeks an experienced, collaborative, and problem-solving Production Manager.Utah is known for its high quality of life, low crime, distinct four-season climate, and diverse, easily accessible landscapes ranging from mountains to pine forests to deserts. The Production Manager oversees the production budget and is responsible for allocating resources, monitoring and approving expenses, finding creative ways to cut costs and timelines, negotiating employment contracts with new technical staff and contractors, and monitoring all production elements while maintaining high standards for all productions. The position facilitates the overall production process, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Scenery, Props, Electrics, Costumes, Wigs/Hair, Sound, and Projection Departments.PTC generally produces a seven-show season, an Encores style concert, and a new play reading series, utilizing the Lees Mainstage 932-seat proscenium theatre and a new 380-seat thrust theatre. The Production Manager will work closely with the Artistic Director on season planning and scheduling and holds significant decision-making responsibilities for design approvals.
