ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring for full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist III - NYQ - 2 openings. Duties: The Medical Laboratory Scientist III (NYQ) in the Special Microbiology laboratory will provide services of a technical nature for manual testing to detect a variety of infectious diseases. Will perform routine and complex lab tests to provide physicians with rapid and accurate results; will participate in preparing specimens for processing; perform waived, moderate, and highly complex analytical processes; establish, perform, and document quality assurance, quality control, and equipment maintenance; confirm and verify results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; correlate and interpret data based on knowledge of factors affecting test results; data handling and input. Testing within the department includes organism identification and susceptibility testing, molecular assays for drug resistance, and culture testing for a variety of microbiology organisms. Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or in the chemical or biological sciences; and ASCP or AAB certification as MLS or MT.
