ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City, Utah is hiring for full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist II NYQ - 1 opening. Duties: In the Molecular Automated Department, the Medical Laboratory Scientist II NYQ will perform testing for viral and bacterial pathogens using automated and semi-automated molecular based instrumentation; will prepare specimens for testing, perform sample loading, nucleic acid extraction and amplification, evaluate quality controls, document control values, and verify results through in-depth knowledge of techniques, principles, and instruments; will interpret data based on knowledge of multiple factors affecting test results. Requires Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or in the chemical or biological sciences; and ASCP or AAB certification as MLS or MT.
