MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT

 

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the mechanical aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical installations and a proven track record of successfully managing teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role is essential for maintaining high-quality standards, safety compliance, and effective communication among all project stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage mechanical crews and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution and performance.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate project activities and resolve conflicts.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of mechanical installations.

  • Implement quality assurance practices to ensure compliance with design documents and industry standards.

  • Enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting safety meetings and ensuring all personnel are equipped with the necessary safety gear and training.

  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, inspections, and change orders.

  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and assist in the preparation of cost forecasts and estimates.

  • Address and resolve on-site issues promptly, facilitating communication between team members and stakeholders to keep the project on track.

  • Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding mechanical work, addressing concerns and providing updates as necessary.

  • Oversee the job closeout process, ensuring all mechanical systems are operational and documentation (including OandM manuals) is complete.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction supervision or a related role.
