The Grants Manager is responsible forassisting with all grants management and administrative duties related to privately or publiclyfundedgrants. This role collaborates with Advancement colleagues and staff across the university to manage pre-award grant functions, including proposal development, packaging, and submission, and post-award grant functions, including compliance, monitoring, and reporting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Ensure that all administrative and management tasks for prospective and active grants are being completed in a professional and timely manner * Support the developmentof grant proposals in collaboration with key stakeholders * Manage the grant application process to achieve on-time and quality submissions * Monitor and report on the status of grant applications and funded projects * Provide training, support, and guidance to faculty and staff on grant-related matters * Support the Director in developing procedures and protocols related to grants management * Review and interpret all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies, including research policies * Coordinate with WGU colleagues who are implementing grants to executeproject budgets * Coordinate with WGU colleagues to create the data infrastructure needed to report on progress and outcomes of funded projects * Oversee the preparation of reports required to comply with grant terms * Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities: * Strong knowledge of all aspects of grants management and research grant administration * Strong knowledge of and previous experience with managing grants from a wide range of funders, including government agencies, corporate foundations, and private foundations * Strong knowledge of the research regulatory environment and requirements for compliance * Ability to analyze proposals and contracts and identify reporting and other requirements, and areas needing clarification * Strong ability in policy review, data collection, statistical evaluation of data, and strategies for conveying results to users * Ability to communicate effectively with and explain complex concepts to diverse constituencies, including faculty members, staff, colleagues, and other internal and external constituents * Strong organizational, time management and leadership skills * Knowledge of key office technology and software for tracking grants, including Cayuse * Customer service mindset to help broker meaningful connections between funders and WGU * Ability to organize and prioritize assigned work, analyze problems, develop appropriate work methods, and maintain records * Ability to multi-task and...
