Job Summary
University Advancement’s Donor Relations Marketing and Communications team is seeking a student worker to assist with internal communication projects, maintain The Post newsletter, copyedit content, and support other communication-related tasks. This position will report to the strategic communications manager but may provide project support for other team members working on various communication initiatives. The role offers a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with the creation, editing, and distribution of advancement’s internal communications newsletter, The Post
Copyedit and proofread communications-related content
Update content on internal communication platforms (WordPress, Mailchimp)
Organize and track communication projects within the project management system (Asana)
Coordinate with team members to gather and verify content
Perform administrative tasks related to internal communications
Other projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current, enrolled student at the University of Utah pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., communications, English, marketing, or similar). Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience working in WordPress (or a demonstrated desire to learn)
Experience with or a demonstrated desire to learn marketing and communications writing
Familiarity with project management software and the AP or Chicago Manual of Style is a plus.
