SALT LAKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE Associate Registrar, Professional Development Student in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Associate Registrar assumes a pivotal role in overseeing the operations and services of the Professional Development (PD) and Salt Lake Technical College (SLTC) Student Record Management Offices within the Office of the Registrar. By providing visionary leadership, they ensure alignment with educational goals and learning outcomes.

With a focus on technical projects, they manage the accuracy of various student information systems, encompassing both credit and non-credit programs within a highly automated environment.

Acting as a representative of both SLTC and PD Departments, the Associate Registrar serves as a vital liaison with other college departments and the broader community. In addition to this, they are tasked with managing multiple fiscal budgets and enforcing academic regulations and policies governing student records. It's imperative that they ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including adherence to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

This multifaceted role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.

Salt Lake Technical College

- - Ensure seamless functionality of the Student Information Systems tailored for Salt Lake Technical College programs. - Spearhead the implementation of new system releases while maintaining robust processes. - Assume accountability for both technical and logistical facets, overseeing scheduling, enrollment calendars, academic program management, registration procedures, grading processes, leave of absences, registration appeals, certification issuance, and graduation requirements. - Take charge of rectifying student record discrepancies for enrollment in SLTC programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance. - Diligently monitor and review daily reports to uphold operational efficiency and address any emerging issues promptly.

 

Professional Development

  • Ensure the operational integrity of Student Information Systems for both Professional Development non-credit and credit programs.
  • Execute and manage updates for Banner, Marketplace, and Cognos systems, ensuring smooth functionality and efficient reporting capabilities.
  • Direct oversight of Banner operations encompassing term creation, course and event configuration, registration processes, payment handling, withdrawals, appeals, certification issuance, grading, and rectification of grade discrepancies.
  • Supervise the generation of reports tailored for the Continuing Education Department, Institute of Public Safety, and Workforce and Economic Development sectors.

     

  • Offer visionary leadership and supervision for the Student Records Management Office serving both Salt Lake Technical College and the Professional Development programs at the Miller campus.

  • Assume accountability for the full spectrum of personnel management, including recruitment, training, and conducting performance evaluations for staff members.
  • Strive to cultivate a supportive and high-performing team environment conducive to achieving organizational objectives and maintaining exceptional standards of service delivery.

  • Serve as a liaison between different departments within the college, fostering direct collaboration with Deans, Associate Deans, Managers, and Coordinators.
  • Provide comprehensive support and communication channels for faculty and advisors.
  • Forge strong working relationships with the Office of Internal Technology, Financial Aid, and Scheduling Office, ensuring seamless coordination and communication across various administrative functions.

     

  • Responsible for overseeing multiple fiscal budgets encompassing both personnel and non-personnel expenditures, including allocations for office equipment and supplies.

     

  • Assume data steward and custodian responsibilities.

  • Ensure integrity for student record mai tenance, retention and storage.

     

  • Uphold and implement Federal, State, and College academic regulations and policies, with particular emphasis on adherence to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

     

  • Engage actively in diverse college committees and serve as a representative of SLCC within the College and within State and National Organizations.
