Robert Half Staff Accountant in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a St. Paul, Minnesota based organization that is seeking a contract Staff Accountant for the next 5-6 months. The ideal candidate will have experience in all facets of transactional accounting, including accounts payable processing, expense reporting, sales tax return preparation, and customer billing.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable (A/P):

  • Process approximately 50-100 non-PO invoices per week in NetSuite.

  • Assign invoices to the appropriate department for approval after scanning.

  • Handle routine A/P processes with minimal vendor interaction due to timely vendor payments.

  • Expense Reporting:

  • Review and approve approximately 30-40 expense reports per week via Concur.

  • Address and assist end users with any password reset or troubleshooting questions related to Concur.

  • Process recurring expenses, such as parking reimbursements and T& E.

  • Sales Tax Filings:

  • Utilize Avalara to compile data and file monthly sales tax returns in all states the company does business in.

  • Assist in business licensing and registration needs when the company enters into business arrangements in other states.

  • Customer Billing:

  • Use NetSuite to manage monthly billing following established schedules set up in customer accounts.

  • Distribute customer invoices via email.

  • Provide customer support through email and telephonic interactions.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of prior transactional accounting experience, including A/P, A/R, expense reporting and sales tax.

  • Familiarity with a well known ERP, such as NetSuite, Oracle, Great Plains, D365, SAP, etc.

  • Prior experience approving expense reporting in Concur is highly desired

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently.

  • Excellent organization and communication skills to ensure smooth workflows and timely follow-ups.

  • Ability to adapt to new processes and systems during implementation phases.
