Position Summary: The Electrical Engineer creates technical solutions to meet market needs using components, circuits and firmware while utilizing generally accepted engineering methods and practices. The level of work is typically in the medium range not only in complexity but also in scope and duration of tasks. The Electrical Engineer works independently or under the direction of more senior engineers and is able to give work direction to junior engineers and technicians. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, curious about learning and have shown a solid growth progression in electronics design in the early stages of their career. Position Responsibilities: Designs and creates power system and electronic solutions including: Research new ideas and concepts to solve market problems. Creates electrical solution concepts. Creates test firmware solutions as needed, only for circuit development. Creates prototypes and models for proof of concept validation. Refines concepts into solid technical solutions. Schematic and PCB layout using Altium. Mechanical layout and documentation using Solidworks. Specification of wire and cable designs. Code generation and debug using tools appropriate to the MCU. BOM creation using Oracle. Design and test to global safety and EMC regulatory requirements. Communicate and report to internal and external (ODM) customers. Test creation, analysis, and reporting including specifying and purchasing test equipment or external lab time. Collaborate with internal and external (ODM) design teams including mechanical engineers, project managers, product managers, and sourcing. Integrate, document, and test designs over the product development lifecycle including end-of-life components and products. Participate actively in design reviews. Additional duties as requested. Supports Lean Business Enterprise initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
