Equifax, Inc. Support Engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri

Support Engineer for Equifax Inc. in St. Louis, MO, to give recommendation for application security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements, research information security standards, conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments and identity integration issues. Architect, engineer, implement, administer, and maintain a Splunk environment for EWS. Aid in the design/development of equipment and systems in order maintain the EWS Splunk environment. Work closely with internal application teams and business analysts in Splunk data collection onboarding efforts. Troubleshoot software and configuration errors as needed. Maintaining and optimizing the search head and indexer cluster deployments and other Splunk components. Securing Splunk environment by working with Infrastructure Operations team to reduce risks to information by implementing patch and vulnerability management. Assist in Splunk cloud migration strategy and implementation. Provide L2 support to EWS Product Development application teams for Splunk issues. Raise tickets and track problem/incident resolution with Splunk directly. Analyze and provide Hardware and software server specifications and troubleshoot the connectivity problems between the servers. Triage system issues and outages, raising and responding to incidents as needed. Creating retention policies for all the teams to manage the indexer storage and upgrading the Splunk versions. Assist on Splunk forwarder deployments across the enterprise infrastructure. Initiate and participate in timely communication to stakeholders during planned and unplanned outages. Assist in technical evaluations, proof of concepts, and/or provide technical recommendations as needed provide mentoring and guidance to application teams for logging standards and best practices. Automation of Splunk deployments using shell, python scripts and to improve the performance of the servers. Implement operation readiness best practices and standards. Implement Splunk functional add-ons and Apps based on the application teams requirement. Test interoperability in the environment.

Requires: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five years of experience as a Support Engineer, or related occupation with experience in application development or, alternatively, a Master's degree in computer science, information technology, telecommunications or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and two years of experience as a Support Engineer, or related occupation with experience in application development. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Platform administration of Elk, Splunk, or Appdynamics (Upgrades, log ingestion, configuration, and troubleshooting); XML, Shell and Powershell Scripting, and RegEx; RedHat or CentOS and Windows server administration; Database connectivity configurations and web applications; and using Jira and Agile development framework.
