ITW Production Cell Supervisor in Saint Charles, Missouri

The production cell supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the assigned cell and will provide direction, instruction, and guidance to the team to achieve results. The production cell supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and that the production process runs smoothly. In this role you will lead a team of production cell operators providing guidance, training while monitoring production metrics, analyzing data, and supporting the implementation of process improvement initiatives. The production cell supervisor will work closely with other departments to ensure quality and production goals are met. Strong leadership skills, problem solving, and communication skills are critical for success in this position.

  • Manage a team of production employees by coaching, guiding, conducting reviews, managing time, enforcing policies/procedures, and counseling when necessary; participate in recruiting process and train and onboard new employees as needed.

  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs in partnership with operations leadership.

  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals in conjunction with operations leadership and other production cell supervisors.

  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

  • Works with Operations leadership to leverage production resources, workflow, and scheduling to assure customer requirements or stated lead-times or met.

  • Manage process changes and ensure they are properly implemented.

  • Manage cycle count system, create records, and provide training to employees on their role in monthly/quarterly cycle counts.

  • Maintain production metrics and data such as lead times, cost savings tracking and scrap; make recommendations for improvements.

  • Works with safety and facilities team to communicate safety practices and expectations to the team.

  • Champions Diagraph and ITW goals and initiatives to their team.

  • Listens to the team members feedback and answers team questions, help with team problems, and oversees teamwork for quality and guideline compliance.

  • Conducts team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations.

  • Manage the flow of day-to-day operations.

  • Work with engineering, quality, and purchasing team to troubleshoot and resolve any production issues.

  • Works with facilities to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Maintain focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and make process improvement recommendations to management.

*Education: * High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • 5 Years of manufacturing experience.

  • Mastery of all equipment and processes in your production cell(s) area.

  • Ability to understand and communicate all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features of the equipment.

  • Ability to recognize and solve minor and moderate problems and escalating advanced problems to the appropriate person or team.

  • Highly motivated and results oriented.

  • Ability to collect, analyze data, and make decisions based on data analysis.

  • Strong project management skills and possesses the ability to multi-task.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Systems such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and excel.

  • Experience with ERP Systems (i.e. Macola)

  • Ability to coach and develop production members in their assigned areas.

  • Expert ability to inspect and manipulate small and delicate items using a variety of tools.

  • Strong manufacturing operations knowledge and practices.
