Saguache County Government Grant Writing/Research Support Specialist in Saguache, Colorado

JOB TITLE: Grant Writing Specialist

MUSTS: Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. Must have the ability to be self-directed, as well as a team player. Must have proven work experience a a Grant writer or similar role. Must have solid knowledge of government, financial and accounting grant procedures. Must have excellent analytical and numerical skills. Must also have strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data. Must be able to pass drug testing and background check for final applicants.

SKILLS: General knowledge and interest in grant funding, including research and applying for grants. Capable of researching grants for various departments and tracking all financial and award requirements. Comprehension in coordinating and managing the required reporting and administration of any grants awarded to ensure compliance with grant-specific requirements. Knack for competition, yet ability to assist staff to ensure all requirements are met. Proficiency in utilizing information technology, including general internet usage, email, video conferencing software(s), data entry, and social media tools. Talented in strong group facilitation skills and experiences as well as knack to identify problems, develop solutions and take the lead in solving problems.

DUTIES: The Grant Writing/Research Support Specialist will be in charge of working with the Board of County Commissioners and all department heads to research and apply for grants to benefit Saguache County by overseeing the entire grant time line to assure all grant requirements are met. Other duties include: Keep accurate records for all daily transactions as needed for grant reporting Process invoices, if required. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial grant reports Assist with budget preparation as needed for grants

WAGES: $85/hour. Paid Bi-weekly.

DURATION: This is a part-time position, depending on project need.

SHIFT: This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position, with some evening and weekends needed, depending on time-sensitive tasks. The exact days and hours are to be determined by the Employer.
