In this role, you will be at the forefront of strategic decision-making, defining sourcing strategies, and selecting providers that align with our customers’ IT and automation strategies. You will be the trusted advisor, accountable for delivering highly complex, multi-disciplined consulting engagements that provide lasting and measurable value to our esteemed customers. Your expertise in prioritizing use cases, conducting ROI and business case analyses, and seamlessly incorporating security and resiliency into future state designs will shape the foundation for success.

Your Future at Kyndryl

As a Consult Partner at Kyndryl you will join the Kyndryl Consultant Profession, working with other Kyndryl Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, and cross-functional Technical Subject Matter Experts – presenting unlimited opportunities with unmatched support through our investment in your learning, training, and career growth.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $151,560 to $272,760 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California: $166,680 to $327,240

Colorado: $151,560 to $272,760

New York City: $181,800 to $327,240

Washington: $166,680 to $300,120

Washington DC: $166,680 to $300,120

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

Who You Are

Consulting Subject Matter Expertise Domain:

  • Proven track record in IT Consulting or IT Management Consulting with delivery and business development success and growth

  • Recognized externally & internally as a Consult leader on multiple specialization areas in the Mainframe technology area. Ability to create, position and deliver Modern IT Strategies, OpModels, Complex Digital Transformations and Business/Financial value realization engagements and roadmaps

  • Builds cross-unit notoriety as a subject-matter expert, has demonstrated subject-matter expertise externally with clients and/or through publications, speaking events, industry forums, blogs on the above specialization

  • Has experience (and/or willingness) to increase Kyndryl’s intellectual property assets by expanding existing Consult offerings, developing new offers when needed, developing or improving consulting methods, tools and techniques

  • Able to operate in a “newly” forming business unit and able to “roll-up-sleeve” and contribute in an entrepreneurial fashion to help lead and deliver client outcomes

Consulting Business Development Domain:

  • Demonstrates success in creating, developing and closing pipeline to achieve signings targets

  • Leads or has participated in complex sales efforts, seeks appropriate assistance as required, and has positive impact on sales closure

  • Able to drive smaller sales efforts, to close after initial identification with minimal oversight and support

  • Has participated in sales cycles across multiple offering solutions and has been exposed to a diverse set of client proposals

  • Has been exposed to sales involving global resourcing components

Consulting People & Team Leadership Domain :

  • Behaves in a Player/Coach model to act as coach or mentor to fellow team members, as well as carry individual targets

  • Role model to others outside of project team(s); large sphere of influence

  • Effectively collaborates across Consult service areas, functions or entities while inspiring a positive employee experience and enhanced climate

Customer Success

  • Build relationships with senior C-level and IT executives; create referenceable customers

  • Lead with a consultative approach to identify and create demand cross all of Kyndyl capabilities. Work in tandem with the Customer Partner on the account. Leads and drives deals to closure through consultative approach and personal eminence.

  • Responsible for bringing together Kyndryl deep technical and solution expertise, coupled with alliance partners, for successful joint pursuits.

  • Develop and maintain end-to-end ownership of project services opportunities including completion of bid response documents, solutioning, and delivery

  • Is externally recognized as an expert in an industry; acts as the lead contributor to Kyndryl Industry groups and customer initiatives

  • Responsible for the end-to-end engagement from identification, solutioning, closure and delivery as well as personally being billable on customer engagements

Commercial Success

  • Identify, develop and own opportunities for project work in assigned customer; drive opportunities through in collaboration with Customer Partners

  • Manage contracts end-to-end including negotiating scope, organizing internal support, coordinating with the deal team to finalize terms, and bringing cross Kyndryl teams on multi-tower/complex deals

  • Responsible for working with the Account team to expand our Kyndryl scope to managed services opportunities

  • Generate Kyndryl brand awareness at conferences and through knowledge pieces

Required Skills

  • 12+ years Mainframe experience with at least 1 full Mainframe Modernization project

  • Proven track record in IT Consulting or IT Management Consulting with delivery and business development success and growth

  • Experience building relationships with senior C-level and IT executives; creating referenceable customers

  • Ability to lead with a consultative approach to identify and create demand cross all of Kyndyl capabilities. Work in tandem with the Customer Partner on the account. Leads and drives deals to closure through consultative approach and personal eminence.

  • Experience with end-to-end engagement from identification, solutioning, closure and delivery as well as personally being billable on customer engagements

  • Proven creation, definition and development of Consult patterns and subsequent presentations for Mainframe Modernization

Preferred Skills

  • Possesses strong architecture methodologies in-depth knowledge of leading-edge technology solutions with industry and business skills to influence clients and sell Kyndryl solutions. Requires expertise in Hyperscale’s, being a certified professional

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Works closely with customers to understand their goals, needs and constraints, establish the vision, convert business and technical requirements into architectural designs with an emphasis on integrating distributed platform with IBM Z. Also, desktop/browser/mobile integration patterns with IBMZ/IBMi

  • IBMZ/IBMi Application oriented approach for problem solving required relevant experience in development tools and specific application and system architecture. (IBM ADDI, IBM ABO, IDz EE, BMC Topaz Workbench)

  • Understanding of DevSecOps, Agile, Scrum construct to identify inefficiencies through readiness assessments and development of strategies and approaches to optimize the implementation of IT or cloud resources and capabilities

  • Subject matter expertise in mainframe, inclusive of System z and System i and adjacent environments (e.g. cloud computing, cloud hyperscaler, X86, midrange)
