About the unit

North Tower Pre Post Op PACU unit Royal Oak. Weekend and holiday rotation based on departmental needs. Approximately, four weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. North Tower Pre op and Recovery units provide 24 7 support for surgical and non operating room anesthesia patients. Primary services lines include General, Urology, Gynecology, Peripheral, Vascular and Robotics.

Scope of work

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a first line manager in the administration of PACU Services. Assumes responsibility for patients, personnel and the environment with accountability for assigned unit. Responsible for assisting the orientation and in-service education of the PACU staff; responsible for quality assurance activities, policy and procedure revisions and infection control surveillance within the department. Responsible in assisting with the PACU staff schedule and for performance evaluations on assigned staff.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Nursing Required

  • Bachelors in Nursing Preferred

  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role, etc.,). Preferred

  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required

  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • 2 years of experience as an RN in PACU, CCU or equivalent specialty.
