Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Valve Clinic, you will perform direct patient care, plan, coordinate and implement care of the valve patients in an outpatient setting. You will direct, monitor, and evaluate the care delegated to non-licensed personnel. You will work with all team members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care, and perform a range of technical services to serve patient needs. You will also be responsible for patient specimen testing, quality control and improvement, and equipment maintenance.

• You will participate in the clinical management of patients with cardiac valve disease through the continuum of care in collaboration with providers

• You will coordinate clinical evaluation of potential structural heart candidates

• You will provide ongoing education and support for the patient/caregiver through the entire process from referral to intervention to post-procedure care

• You will work with physicians and allied health professionals to coordinate the development of comprehensive treatment plan for patients with structural heart disease

• You will coordinate information among the referring, primary care and valve clinic physicians, the research team and ancillary departments

Requirements

Experience

• 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with 2 years of experience managing cardiac patients

Education

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licenses and Certifications

• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
