SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $68,000 per year

WORK LOCATION: Devils Backbone Basecamp – Roseland, VA

JOB SUMMARY: The Trade Marketing Manager will be accountable for the creation and execution of all retail marketing efforts as it relates to consumer facing retail marketing support, generating interest in products, merch, and increasing ROS. Collaborates with DB Marketing, Sales, Production teams, as well as High End and wholesaler partners. This position supports consistent branding efforts in coordination with supplying the company and distributor partner’s materials to drive promotional opportunities and increase retail sales. This position is creative in nature, working with vendors, agencies, and internal peers to develop creative and on-brand programs, POCM, and merchandise. Project management, program performance, and inventory management are performance drivers of this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for designing, sourcing, creating point-of-connection trade materials, promotional premiums, retail merchandise elements, as well as managing inventories with internal & external partners.

  • Develop trade plans with Brand Team to target key consumers and drive ROS.

  • Responsible for making/coordinating creative content for trade programs.

  • Cultivate relationships with potential collaborative partners and identify new opportunities for sponsorships and collaborative projects.

  • Recognize the importance of product mix, merchandising, competition, and market conditions.

  • Ensures brand guidelines are followed in POCM and merchandise design.

  • Works with A-B partners to align channels for efficient product ordering and distribution, liaison with sales/wholesaler with a goal of hitting order window MOQs.

  • Develop Trade Marketing programs for on and off-premise accounts.

  • Monitor, report, and manage effectiveness of program, retail, and merchandise items.

  • Manage DB retail merch outlets & inventory, ensure consistent with retail POCM

  • Reporting and presenting on program/merch/POCM performance and inventory, adjusting retail strategies as necessary.

  • Managing e-commerce outlets including retail e-comm channels/visuals and online DB store

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, or related field. MBA preferred.

  • 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in a role involved in branding.

  • Experience in CPG or alcohol industry preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the 3-tier system

  • Understanding of target consumer & market demographics and their impact on performance.

  • Expert in retail, merchandise, and basic supply-chain management.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other office related software.

  • Strong budget and business analytic skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers.

  • Thorough knowledge of the beer industry, specifically on the wholesaler/supplier level.

  • Strong creative and design skills to develop programs, POCM, and merchandise

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills including the desire to learn all marketing and sales aspects of the company.

  • Conducts work in a sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting.

  • Regular in market travel is necessary.

  • Ability to life/move inventory as needed.
