WorkSource Oregon Prevention Navigator in ROSEBURG, Oregon
Position Summary The Prevention Navigator will work closely with the Prevention Manager in the implementation of BIPOC HIV prevention interventions targeting BIPOC MSM and PWID. The position manages agency outreach to BIPOC MSM, PWID and other high-risk populations. The Prevention Navigator will work with other prevention staff to provide testing, including onsite and offsite testing and testing events, and develop program policies and procedures. This position will supervise volunteers both in agency and offsite. In addition, the Prevention Navigator will be trained to provide HIV client-centered counseling, needle exchange services, and present to community groups on issues of HIV/AIDS, especially as they pertain to BIPOC communities. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Conduct outreach online, in community sex environments, and at LGBTQ+ related events to BIPOC gay and bisexual men, offering safer sex supplies and making referrals to our services, and services provided by community partners; Data entry and management for CTRS and Evaluation Web; Collaborate with other staff and volunteer to recruit high-risk populations into CTRS; Training and supervision of volunteers and interns; and Help foster community involvement, support and effective collaboration; Ensure implementation of policies and procedures; Provide HIV and HCV testing and screening; Keeping meaningful data concerning services and using that data in ongoing program development and evaluation; Acts as liaison and HIV prevention advocate to community groups and coalitions; Participate on all required agency teams and committees; Solicit client feedback on a regular basis and use that feedback in ongoing program development and evaluation; Advocate for needed services and future direction of these services; Model and encourage community collaborations in all programs; Stay current on HIV prevention (interventions, stats, etc).
