The Crime Victims Center (CVC) is the leading provider of comprehensive trauma-informed victim support services to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, all violent crimes, and elderly, minor, and disabled victims of property crime in Suffolk County. The organization provides sexual assault forensic examiner services and rape crisis counselor response for acute sexual assault victims who present at emergency departments.

The CVC has a robust prevention education program and provides in-person evidence based or evidence informed curriculum based workshops to children, tweens, teens, young adults and community members.

The CVC is seeking a full-time prevention program coordinator to work directly with public and private schools, community organizations, and others to coordinate programs. This candidate must have strong communication, organizational and outreach skills. This position requires that the candidate become rape crisis certified (RCC) and responds on call to acute sexual assault victims. Training is provided by the CVC.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree required. Public Speaking Experience REQUIRED. You must have a minimum of 2 years experience presenting information to an audience, e.g. a workshop or presentation. Strong communication and organizational skills, detailed orientated and passionate about preventing child and adult sexual assault. Ability to work closely with Long Island public and private school districts and college staff, PTA's, community and government organizations and the general public to promote, coordinate, and present child and adult prevention education programs with our education staff. Ability to present educational programs to adults and children. Participation in community education and outreach events. Professional telephone etiquette that includes building and maintaining professional relationships. Sales/marketing experience a PLUS as you will be encouraging schools and community organizations to schedule our programs. Candidate will also assist in training new educators. Goal oriented individual who excels at meeting objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills (creating and editing). Must have a valid New York State drivers license and a car to be available to travel on Long Island. (Gas included in salary) Available for occasional evening and weekend meetings.
