Job: Mixing Apprentice

Royal Canin is looking for a Mixing Apprentice to join our exciting pet food business at one of our manufacturing plants located in Rolla, Mo. Role:

Mixing apprentices assist other associates in unloading, dumping, and mixing tasks as needed.

What are we looking for?

• An associate who is highly engaged and motivated to learn and grow with the business takes pride in their work.
• An associate to support the operation of the plant site.
• Willing to work with the sanitation team when needed.
• This role will be responsible for the site sustainability initiatives and motivated to learn the part of the mixing operator.
• This is a developmental role that can lead to a mixing operator position.

Responsibilities

• Execute cleaning tasks in the area as described below:
• Ensure all ATA yellow carts are recorded and dumped into the proper recycler.
• Sanitize all empty carts and replace them in the staging area.
• Ensure all blue and red carts are weighed, recorded, and dumped into Tosh boxes and/or into recyclers' when approved; keep scale area, tosh box area, and wet waste areas cleaned and sanitized.
• Perform sanitation and maintenance level 1 of wet waste and steam recyclers.
• Assist other associates in their unloading, dumping, and mixing tasks as needed.
• Apply GMP-GHP, HACCP, LOTO, And ISO practices per requirements.
• When working the day shifts, 5 am to 1 pm, you are responsible for the 5th floor.
• Dust, sweep, and mop.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language.
• Working knowledge of Safety, Quality, and Material Management Systems and procedures
• Ability to read and understand the daily production run schedule and execute that plan.
• Ability to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety, or other business-critical information vital to operations and customer service.
• Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules.
