Job Summary:

Westat has an immediate opening for a Research Associate-Training Specialist with experience developing adult learning training materials. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and a multidisciplinary research team on data collection for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), an innovative digital educational assessment also known as “The Nation’s Report Card.”

Hybrid 1-2 days per week preferred, remote work arrangement also available.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in designing, developing, and reviewing the distance training development program.

• Create training materials, including developing and writing training procedures manuals and support material.

• Conduct in-person or online training sessions for adult learners.

• Work with project and IT staff on technical specifications for field systems.

• Other relevant job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in education or related social sciences and 5 years of relevant experience.

• U.S. Citizenship is required by contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree.

• Experience with adult learning development or e-learning tools such as Captivate.

• Experience with large-scale field operations and digitally-based assessments.

• Experience working in an education or web survey environment is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated communication skills.

• Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.

• Organization skills, including time management ability.
