Job Title:  DevSecOps and Cloud Migration Engineer

Location: Rockville, MD 

Overview: The DevSecOps and Cloud Migration Engineer supports the implementation and management of DevSecOps practices and cloud migration initiatives within both on-premise and AWS cloud environments. This role is crucial for enhancing the organization's agility and security in software development and infrastructure management.

Responsibilities:

  • Task Area 4.1.8.3 – On-premises Systems Migration: Assist in the planning and execution of migrating on-premise systems to the AWS cloud, ensuring adherence to security protocols and integration with Zero Trust Architecture.

  • Task Area 4.1.8.4 – CI/CD Pipeline Deployment: Support the development and deployment of CI/CD pipelines, advocating for the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline and secure deployment processes.

  • Conduct research on industry best practices for DevSecOps, CI/CD, and IaC, applying this knowledge to improve internal practices.

  • Develop and implement testing and implementation plans for cloud migration projects, monitoring the adoption and functionality of CI/CD and IaC across the enterprise.

  • Task Area 2 – Infrastructure and Cloud Engineering Support: Assist in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity/Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP), as well as Backup and Recovery activities.

    Qualifications:

  • Must possess an undergraduate degree in a relevant technical field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with a strong focus on DevSecOps, cloud technologies, and software development practices.

  • Junior cybersecurity certification (Security+ or similar) required.

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar cloud certification preferred.

  • Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps certifications is advantageous.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Tier 2 Public Trust clearance.

    Tools and Technologies:

  • Skilled in using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

  • Proficient in managing cloud-based infrastructures, particularly with AWS, and integrating security practices within DevSecOps workflows.

    Work Hours:

  • Standard work hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
