Job Details Responsible for driving strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost-saving initiatives across key healthcare supply chain categories. This position will oversee the full lifecycle of supplier relationships, ensuring optimal performance, value, compliance, and risk management. The DCM will leverage market intelligence, data analytics, and supplier performance metrics to create value for the category, ultimately contributing to the organization’s bottom line and strategic goals. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Category Management: Lead the category management process across all relevant healthcare supply chain categories, including Pharmaceuticals, IT, Consulting, Medical Equipment, Fleet, Telecom, and others. Take a fresh look at assigned categories, drive strategic initiatives, and evolve category strategies to the next level. Establish and implement a structured, iterative approach to continuously create value for each category through the use of market intelligence, demand management, supplier playbooks, and scorecards. Spend & Contract Management: Implement an enterprise-wide view of supplier spend and consolidate contracts to maximize cost savings and efficiencies. Partner with stakeholders to document requirements, understand needs, and incorporate them into category strategies. Develop and implement contract/product rationalization strategies to improve fiscal responsibility, contractual compliance, and risk management. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance, ensuring that terms are met, and value is delivered. Market Intelligence & Data Analytics: Build insights from current spend and deepen the understanding of supplier markets, trends, and innovations. Benchmark competitive buying strategies to set realistic savings targets and continually monitor the market for new opportunities. Provide data-driven analysis to improve data reliability, lifecycle management, and supplier decision-making. Supplier Performance & Relationship Management: Establish and maintain supplier scorecards to measure supplier performance across key metrics such as cost, value, partnership, and innovation. Build and nurture strategic, transparent relationships with internal partners and suppliers, focusing on long-term value and continuous improvement. Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and engage in regular performance discussions with suppliers to address any issues and drive continuous improvement. Savings & Continuous Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize near-term and long-term savings opportunities through category analysis and strategic sourcing initiatives. Monitor savings performance and adjust strategies as necessary to meet or exceed targets. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuously refine processes for operational excellence. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies across all supplier relationships. Actively manage risks related to suppliers and contracts, implementing mitigation strategies when necessary. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of category strategies with organizational goals and objectives. Provide valuable insights and recommendations to internal partners to support informed decision-making. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field., OR - High School Diploma or equivalent and 15+ years of relevant sourcing experience with 2+ of those years involving leadership experience. MBA or advanced degree preferred. At least 15 years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Chain Management, with a focus on healthcare or related industries. Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar categories and supplier bases. Strong knowledge of market intelligence, procurement strategies, and data analytics. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong, strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Experience in managing supplier performance, including developing scorecards and conducting QBRs. Solid understanding of risk management, compliance, and contract management, preferably in a healthcare environment. Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Salary Range USD $140,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
