West Virginia Employer Sr. Principal Research Scientist in Rocket Center, West Virginia

This position will play a role in overseeing areas of the lab operations, ensuring quality control, and leading special project and investigations. This position requires an understanding of chemical principles, lab procedures, and data analysis along with communication skills. Position summary Oversee daily operations within areas of the lab ensuring adherence to safety and quality control procedures. Development and validation new analytical test methods. Lead special projects, investigations, continuous improvements and research initiatives. Prepare and review technical reports and memorandums. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Actively contributes to the development of new or refined laboratory methods, instrumentation, or analysis Contribute to the development and implementation of lab policies and procedures. Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science field 8 years of experience with a BS; 6 years of experience with a Masters; 4 years of experience with a PhD Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment Experience working effectively under deadlines, with considerable latitude in determining technical objectives and a track record of delivering results Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work outside of standard work hours when needed to resolve issues Experience as a user or architect of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Strong knowledge with chemical and physical analytical techniques such as: SEM, ICP, FTIR, Chromatography, and other common lab testing practices/equipment Proficiency in MS office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Salary Range: $118,600 - $178,000
