Job Description:

The Quality Manager for Overhead Solutions (OHS) is responsible for the overall quality of the company's products and services. The Quality Manager will demonstrate strong working knowledge of quality management systems, LEAN, and industrial technical concepts. They will also have experience in a manufacturing and/or service environment. This Quality Manager should also possess a strong understanding of how to create processes that maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Lastly, the Quality Manager will identify and implement opportunities for improvement that support a strong customer focus and effective execution of the company's quality systems.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management, including quality assurance, quality control, and quality audits
  • Manage a team of Quality Engineer(s) and Quality Technicians to meet the organizational goal of continual quality improvement
  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement
  • Train and educate employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Investigate customer complaints or product issues and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality management systems
  • Understands and interprets product requirements, provides interpretive guidance on requirements to all affected departments, such as product development, software engineering, IT, production, service, sales & marketing teams
  • Provides risk assessments and options to appropriate teams and management
  • Manages product compliance, evaluates issues and provides accurate and timely recommendations and alternatives, as needed, to management and functional business departments
  • Interact effectively with functional business departments in order to coordinate and facilitate documentation requirements, ensuring that timelines are met and files are comprehensive
  • Develops and maintains procedures and policies to ensure ongoing compliance of existing and new products
  • Compile and maintain appropriate Quality Management System files
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned resources. Provide timely and appropriate performance feedback
  • Supports New Product Development projects
  • Manages the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system
  • Develop Quality Metrics and coordinate quality data collection and analyses for Management Reviews
  • Analyze product complaints and make recommendations
  • Independently review and approve relevant documents, including engineering changes, advertising and promotional materials and product development reports
  • Ability to move around factory work stations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel as needed, < 20%
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Management, Engineering, or related discipline)
  • Prior experience in successfully managing/leading a team of Quality Engineers, Quality Analysts and Quality Technicians
  • Proven experience in quality management roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems
  • Familiarization with fabrication (welding, sawing, etc.) and assembly
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and identify trends
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team in a highly charged, fluid environment
  • Ability to compile data and summarize results
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience in project management
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of engineering principles preferred
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is: Min $92,67 - Max $139,013
