ABOUT DELPHI RISE:

Delphi Rise is a small but impactful community-based, non-profit behavioral health organization that focuses on supporting individuals with substance use addiction. Since 1936, we have been offering our community an array of services including Outpatient Treatment; school-based prevention, education and counseling; prison Reentry Services; HUD Rapid Re-Housing supports; and Health Homes Care Management services. We also operate an Open Access Clinic, providing on-demand substance abuse evaluations and referrals. In fact, we are the only 24/7 Open Access Provider in Monroe County!

SUMMARY: A peer is someone with lived experience with substance use who uses their experiential knowledge to support the recovery goals of individuals who use drugs and/or alcohol. Peers are natural support experts, meaning that the relationships they establish can lead to increased feelings of support, safety, and wellbeing among the individuals they serve. Peers are an essential part of our service offerings!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Model coping skills in words and actions Educate clients about various pathways for recovery Work with clients to identify their strengths and recovery goals Represent Delphi Rise at monthly outreach events Co-facilitate groups with at risk students with Delphi Rise clinicians or school staff Facilitate wellness activities for students to engage them in health coping strategies Support in engaging youth in the Recovery Process Present in health classes to promote student engagement Provide staff trainings or present at parent events in district to increase awareness about addiction and community supports Work collaboratively with the on-site school based prevention counselor to provide collateral care Document student interactions in an electronic record system Ability to work independently as a resource for students and seek supervision when necessary for additional support Deliver evidence based programs assigned by the Program Director in identified districts with fidelity to the curriculum Comfortable working with clients demonstrating complex challenges and limited resources Provide education, resources and and/or referrals for families seeking support Travel to various districts to fulfil the above tasks

QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum requirements for this position: 1)High School Diploma or GED/Unless Waived by OASAS 2)ASAP-NYCB Peer Advocate (CRPA or CRPA-P) 3)Ability to utilize a computer 4)Reliable transportation and a clean drivers license

POSTION INFORMATION: Per-diem hours Monday-Friday, 2nd Shift
