Trillium Health NY Compliance Analyst in Rochester, New York

Purpose: Internal Audit Coordinator will be responsible to assisting the Compliance Audit & Risk Manager with the implementation of the Organizations Audit Workplan, by coordinating internal audit activities related to programs funded by grants. Responsible for working with various departments to ensure compliance with grant requirements, internal policies, and relevant regulations. This role will involve planning, executing and reporting on internal audits, identifying areas of improvement, and providing recommendations for enhancing operational efficiency and compliance.

Detail of Key Job Responsibility Areas

  • Grant Compliance

  • Monitor and assess compliance with grant guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements.

  • Conduct audits to ensure that grant-funded programs adhere to established policies and procedures.

  • Audit Planning and Implementation

  • Work with Compliance Audit & Risk Manager in developing an annual audit workplan for the organizations grant-funded programs, based on previous audit findings (internal & external), risk assessments and organizational priorities.

  • Implement audit work plan by completing internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, and program operations.

  • Provide support during Grant Monitoring visits.

  • Attend Monitoring visit entrance/exit meetings and provide updates to Compliance Audit & Risk Manager on visit findings.

  • Assist with ensuring timely submission of Corrective Action Plans for site visit findings and monitor implementation of those plans to ensure follow-through and completion.

  • Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive and organized audit documentation.

  • Prepare detailed audit reports, highlighting findings and recommendations.

  • Communicate audit results to relevant stakeholders, including department heads and grant managers.

  • Work with program management to review corrective action plans and monitor the status of all corrective actions plans until fully resolved.

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the grant funded programs.

  • Recommend corrective actions to address identified weaknesses and enhance overall program performance.

  • Work with program management to monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective action plans.

  • Advisory Role

  • Support program management by providing support and guidance on grant compliance matters.

  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry best practices related to grant management and internal auditing.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will possess a closely related bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent in directly related work experience. The candidate must have regulatory compliance knowledge such as HIPAA, compliance, audit, grant funded programs management. This person will demonstrate a track record of success with meeting deadlines, following procedures, and the understanding of regulations. This position requires knowledge/ability to understand grant funded program management and the ability to demonstrate a high level of functioning with the technology and systems that store and organize services information. In addition, this position requires high levels of independence and initiative.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Occasionally the employee must stoop, bend and lift or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
