Responsibilities

Works with the Manufacturing Support Services Supervisor, QC Manager, and Manufacturing Manager to provide direction for the laboratory information system (LIS) support of the laboratory, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory file build. Accurately documents and tracks changes made to laboratory file build using the test implementation system process (TIP). Serves as an expert resource for other information management (IM) functions to the laboratory. Responsibilities also include addressing IM functions related to the work unit, as well as developing, and implementing emerging IM and electronic solutions and services, according to the DLMP Quality System Essentials. Completes other projects or assignments as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science from an accredited institution or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in addition to a certificate in MLS. In histopathology or non-testing laboratories, bachelor's degree with laboratory certification if applicable. Four years of relevant laboratory experience; or a Master's degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or medical technology and two years of relevant laboratory experience. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Other clinical laboratory specialty certificates will be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis.

  • Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory processes, assays, databases and spreadsheet applications.

  • Experience with complex test file build definitions and/or testing algorithms in the laboratory information system.

  • Experience with the IM test implementation process.

  • Capable of performing under time constraints, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced and changing environment.

  • Demonstrates self-motivation, attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Able to work independently.

  • Ongoing education, training, and certification may be required to meet prevailing regulatory requirements.

  • Preferred candidate will have experience and knowledge with IT frameworks, troubleshooting, and onboarding/validating new software systems.
