Job Title: Pipefitter

Job Description

Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems, including steam systems. Weld and fabricate pipes as required. Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Perform duct work and ensure proper installation. Troubleshoot and repair piping systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. Work flexibly across different locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems, including steam systems.

  • Weld and fabricate pipes as required.

  • Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Perform duct work and ensure proper installation.

  • Troubleshoot and repair piping systems.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

  • Work flexibly across different locations as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pipefitter (5+ years preferred).

  • Strong steam systems and mechanical systems.

  • Proficient in pipe welding and fabrication.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with HVAC systems is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in brazing and threading.

  • Knowledge of plumbing and fitting.

  • Ability to fabricate and install piping systems.

  • Experience in industrial and commercial construction environments.

Work Environment

Work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, though hours may vary depending on the project. Be prepared for random drug testing on-site if needed. Work in both indoor and outdoor climates, with the furthest site being 2 hours away, ensuring employees are home at night. Carpooling from Park and Ride in Salem, VA is available. Personal protective equipment required includes a hard hat, safety vest, and steel-toed boots.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
