Eaton Corporation Assembly Supervisor in Roanoke, Virginia

Eaton’s GEIS division is currently seeking a Assembly Supervisor. This role is onsite at our Roanoke, VA facility. Relocation is not provided for this position.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $83250.0 - $122100.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you’ll do:

This position is responsible to lead operations for hourly team members and to drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and other cost measures through use of the Eaton Business System (EBS) tools.

In this role you will:

  • Champion a Safety Culture using MESH tools, safety best practices, training and empowering all team members to take responsibility for their own safety as well as all of everyone they work with.

  • Lead areas of responsibility in the use of EBS practices, including MESH, ECIS, EQMS, with focus on performance of the entire value stream. Keep focus on meeting customer needs, both internal and external (Customer Centric Focus).

  • Utilize the Tiered Meeting process to track and analyze key operational metrics and implement actions to improve operational performance.

  • Leverage Eaton’s Continuous Improvement System (ECIS) to continuously improve operational performance. Participate in other continuous improvement activities as appropriate.

  • Coach team members one-on-one to address performance issues and drive team member accountability.

  • Establish and maintain a positive, engaged team member sentiment through application of Eaton’s Values, Ethics, and Philosophies and empowering team members to make decisions, innovate, and work in a continuous learning environment.

  • Train and develop hourly team members. Clearly define and communicate expectations, providing positive reinforcement when met and providing coaching and counseling as necessary when not met.

  • Lead the team member engagement culture and reward and recognition programs. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.

  • Provide support to your team by ensuring timely answers to questions or by steering them to the appropriate information sources, and by providing a workplace where team members can grow and develop.

  • Manage the team's time and attendance, while implementing measures to maximize productivity and minimize overtime spend.

  • Manage Daily production schedules, issues, needs, and align staffing to optimize productivity and output

  • Participate as an active member of the leadership team, supporting and participating in site activities and programs.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of assembly, manufacturing, or production experience.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of people management experience.

  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Roanoke, VA to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and management skills

  • Must be able to establish priorities and balance multiple objectives.

  • Computer Skills: demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with SAP.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
