The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for identifying growth opportunities and leading sales campaigns for GE Defense products and services in Southern Europe. The candidate will have a sufficient technical background and strong communication skills to confidently represent Defense products and services to government, armed forces and industry entities in the Southern Europe region.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Represents Defence & Systems business groups (cross product/business/P&L) military engines and systems products/services to develop and grow order pipeline for the Southern Europe Region

  • Demonstrated evidence of building relationships with customers and industry partners in Southern Europe region (Ministry of Defense, Regional OEM/Airframe representation)

  • Requires knowledge across product lines, Southern European markets, sales processes and regional customers

  • Requires strong commercial awareness and is expected to influence the development of the go to market strategy and owns the opportunity capture plan

  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services

  • Uses high level of judgement to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales process, campaigns or customers

  • Stays informed of industry trends

  • Ability to create a value sell based on customer needs and desired outcomes

  • Work closely with GE US Airframer team to bring the regional Voice of the Customer (VoC) into the business for Foreign Military Sales (FMS)

  • Represent military engine and systems product lines to position our products and services successfully in the military market

  • Establish detailed customer engagement plans to position our products and services proactively in the region

  • Understand principles of offset and how GE can create and deliver offset programmes within the region

  • Lead new business opportunity negotiations, including offset in support of key FMS pursuits

  • Work closely with regional Government relations team to understand stakeholders, budgets and alignment to military acquisitions

  • Carry out additional activities for existing programmes as needed/required by the business to support and grow in the region

  • Support regional GE personnel with business appointments with key political, military and industry decision-makers

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Previous and significant experience in Global and Key Account roles, within the aerospace industry

  • Proven technical knowledge of avionics and/or engines and/or power components

  • Ability to negotiate and influence Stakeholders

  • Availability to travel as required by the Business within the Southern Europe Region and emerging countries

  • Availability to travel as Business requires

  • Fluent in English and Italian, other European languages are beneficial

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
