About the Opportunity

At the Richmond Fed, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) works to create an environment where people feel respected, valued, engaged and appreciated. We are seeking a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Program Coordinator to help us further our mission. In this position, the DEI Program Coordinator will lead our Employee Resource Networks (ERNs) program and play a key role in DEI initiatives and reporting. This role will also support DEI strategies that improve the diversity, equity and inclusivity of our culture and workforce.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Employee Resource Network (ERN) program including providing strategic direction for annual goals connected to Bank strategic plan, support for events and activities and ensuring communications and discretionary compliance.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to ERN leaders on leadership, development and ERN leadership succession

  • Build strong relationships across the Bank to develop a deep understanding of business lines and to increase awareness and understanding of DEI as a critical business imperative.

  • Partner with the Diversity and Inclusion Alliance (DNA) ODEI colleagues at the other Federal Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors to ensure consistent and efficient strategies, processes and reporting.

  • Lead the production and management of the OMWI Annual Report to Congress and the annual Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Report processes through compiling, organizing and writing content.

  • In partnership with the Talent and Organizational Development and Talent Acquisition teams. Provide input, deliver, and coordinate DEI presentations, workshops, and learning events in support of Bank-wide DEI efforts.

  • Lead and/or support the submission of annual workplace awards.

  • Partner with Culture workgroup to operationalize culture behaviors and support Culture Ambassadors in delivering culture initiatives up-to-date knowledge of the diversity, equity and inclusion and EEO fields to identify and apply leading practices and relevant benchmarks.

  • Understand the requirements of Section 342 of the Dodd-Frank Act and ensures all diversity and inclusion initiatives, data collection, and reporting meet or exceed those required by the Act.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6+ years of professional experience; 1-3+ years of experience in diversity, equity and inclusion preferred

  • Demonstrated competence in building and managing DEI programs, tools and strategies.

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans and deliverables.

  • Creative problem solving and managing groups of stakeholders.

  • Exceptional follow-up and execution skills.

  • Ability to foster effective, trusting working partnerships with various individuals, departments, and audiences inside and outside the organization.

  • Experience managing teams of employee volunteers; leading and influencing decision making.

  • High degree of self-awareness with particular emphasis on supportiveness, consulting, listening and group process. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to establish trust and a reputation for sound judgment and advice.

  • Thorough understanding of EEO concepts and requirements and up-to-date knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • Selected candidate is subject to special background check procedures. The hiring range is:

  • Intermediate $70,000 - $85,000

  • Senior $90,000 - $110,000

  • Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications/experience.

  • The Fifth District provides a hybrid work environment. This position is required to be onsite on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
