Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to be a part of our team in the automotive industry at Richmond, Virginia. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be expected to efficiently handle various tasks ranging from processing vendor invoices to maintaining accurate vendor profile data and providing customer service support.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process invoices, ensuring accuracy and prompt payment

• Handle vendor inquiries, providing prompt and accurate responses

• Maintain and update vendor profile data, ensuring the accuracy of transactions and account balances

• Provide customer service support to both internal and external customers, addressing concerns regarding vendor set up, payment methods, and resolution of discrepancies

• Participate in general ledger close activities and record journal entries as required

• Contribute towards process improvements by sharing knowledge with others, acting as a subject matter expert, and supporting special projects as needed

• Train new team members and update training manuals, ensuring the stability of new processes

• Resolve any discrepancies in vendor payment status and debit balances, ensuring accurate record-keeping

• Support store operations by performing ad hoc duties as required. Requirements • Possess substantial knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred

• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
