JOB SUMMARY: Provides administrative support for the department and public to assure efficient and productive results. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Composes and types correspondence, memos, and generates reports; Provides secretarial services for Constable. Responds to telephone inquiries and directs callers to appropriate department. Processes and records applicants/new hire paperwork; maintains departmental personnel records. Enters requisitions, reviews, receives and processes all invoices. Tracks and monitors budget expenditures and balances. Invoices, records and deposits service fees for contracts. Compiles information for budget preparation. Maintains inventory for office supplies and equipment. Organizes and maintains filing system for state records. Prepares and inputs bi-weekly payroll. Coordinates all travel arrangements, reservations, and conference registration and prepares travel reimbursements as required. Assists and/or instructs other employees with their duties as required. Notarizes papers as required. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. 3 years job related clerical/office experience. Strong computer and typing skills (40 WPM). Good verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, elected officials and other employees.

SALARY: $17.60 - $22.00 per hour, based on qualifications
